Day-by-Day Plan
Beidaihe & the sunrise coast. Pre-dawn Geziwo Park (¥20) for the sunrise, then the wetland boardwalk and Tiger Rock (¥8) for a morning swim. Lunch, then bus 34 → 25 to Shanhaiguan (about 1 h); check into an old-town hotel and walk the lanes before dinner.
The passes. Morning: First Pass Under Heaven (¥50/¥60, 07:00–17:30, +86 335 5051 106) — climb the gate tower and walk the city wall. Afternoon: Old Dragon Head (¥60, 07:30–17:30, +86 335 5152 995) at low tide, where the Great Wall enters the sea. Evening: huo-guo hotpot or si-tiao buns in the old town.
Mountain Wall & temple. Morning: Jiaoshan Great Wall (¥30, +86 335 5171 999) — 2–3 hours up the steepest Wall in the region for the sea-and-ridge panorama. Afternoon: Meng Jiangnu Temple (¥25, +86 335 5153 159) — 108 steps, the gazing rock and the famous 'all-tide' couplet. Train or coach home in the evening.

Getting there
Shanhaiguan station (1 Nanguan Street, +86 335 5051 844) sits on the Beijing–Harbin line, ~3 h from Beijing; direct coaches also run from Guangqumen and Xizhimen. Buy tickets for Shanhaiguan, not Qinhuangdao — they are 20 km apart.
Pass tickets
The ¥110 through ticket (students ¥70) covers the First Pass, the drum tower and the main Shanhaiguan sights; separate tickets: First Pass ¥50/¥60, Old Dragon Head ¥60. Our team books them in advance.
