Yangmei Ancient Town Day Trip
Half an hour of countryside to Yangmei Ancient Town — a 1,000-year-old Qing-era port on the Zuojiang River, with Ming-Qing streets, the Kuixing Tower and the Longtan sunset. The gentlest day out of Nanning; bookable end-to-end by our team.
Day Plan
Out to the river port. Catch the 09:00 (or 10:00 / 11:00) special tourist bus from 198 Banqiang Road, opposite the No. 2 Coach Station — ¥7 one way, about 1.5 hours. Arrive at Yangmei (entry ¥10) and walk the Qing-era street: the Kuixing Tower, the Huang family manor, Ming-dynasty houses and the old river wharves that once made Yangmei the goods hub for 100 km around.
Lunch & the river bend. Lunch at a farmhouse restaurant by the river — river snails, free-range chicken and Yangmei tofu. Then walk to Longtan: the Zuojiang river bends into a pool beneath two great banyans, one male and one female, propped on stone pillars — the classic sunset view of "Longtan sunset", one of Yangmei's eight sights.
Golden Beach & return. Across the bend, the Golden Beach moonlight sandbank — half sandy, half pebbly, pale gold in the sun. Ferry across to Xialiang village to see the 108 qilou arcade houses of the old Longjiang river port ("township of dragon-boat racing"). The return buses leave at 14:00 and 16:00 — catch one back to Nanning.
