Libo Travel Q&A

From our Libo Travel Guide.

When is the best time to visit?

April to August is greenest and the water most vividly blue; avoid the busiest national holidays.

How many days do I need?

Two days cover Xiaoqikong and Daqikong; add a third for Maolan forest or a Shuichun raft.

Do I need to hike much?

Xiaoqikong is easy boardwalks and shuttle buses; Maolan is real hiking.

What is the water like?

The pools are a striking turquoise — best on bright, clear days; overcast days look greener.

How do I get there?

Libo has a small airport and is connected by bus from Guiyang (about 3–4 hours) or Duyun.

Is it good for families?

Yes — shallow wades, flat boardwalks and calm pools suit children; bring water shoes.
