No ice, no problem — green Harbin in the warm months, with river wetlands, gardens and the July Beer Festival.
Saint Sophia, Central Street & old Daowai. Ride to the cathedral, then walk the tree-lined Central Street, lunch on Russian-style food and browse the Zhonghua Baroque quarter in the afternoon.
Sun Island & the Songhua wetlands. Bus or ferry across the river to Sun Island, rent a bike and take a boat through the wetlands before returning for an evening along Gogol Street.
Volga Manor. Drive or take the bus out to the Russian-themed manor (RMB 100, 9:00–18:00), spend a few hours among the gardens and reconstructed churches, and return to the city in the late afternoon.
Summer evenings are mild but bring a light jacket for the river; book Sun Island bikes and boats on arrival. The Beer Festival runs through July. Our team arranges hotels, bikes and Volga Manor transfers free of charge (see Harbin hotels).
