North & West Slopes 2-Day Tour
Two classic viewpoints of Heavenly Lake in two days — the North Slope's close, easy view and the West Slope's wide panorama.
Day-by-Day Plan
North Slope. From Erdaobaihe take the shuttle and transfer to Heavenly Lake, then the waterfall, Julong, Lvyuan Pool and the Underground Forest; stay at Erdaobaihe.
West Slope. From Songjianghe climb the 1,442 steps (about 40 minutes) for the broad lake panorama and border marker, then walk the Grand Canyon and, in July, the Alpine Garden.
Practical tips for this itinerary
Moving between slopes takes about an hour and a half by road; our team can arrange the transfer and hotels at both Erdaobaihe and Songjianghe. The West Slope steps are the only real climb. Time the trip for mid-July if you want the alpine flowers (see the full guide).
