'Guilin's scenery is the best under heaven; Yangshuo's is the best in Guilin.' This day takes the best of it: Yulong River rafting in the morning, a bicycle down the Ten Li Gallery in the afternoon, and West Street at night if you choose to stay. Bookable end-to-end by our team.
Yulong River rafts. From Yangshuo, take the Jinbao-bound minibus and alight at Jinlong Bridge, or a tricycle from Baisha (¥2) — then float the Yulong River on a two-person bamboo raft (¥120–240 by segment; 08:00–16:30). The water is emerald, the paddies green and the karst walls silent — the legend says a sea dragon stayed here for the scenery. Also en route: Shangri-la Garden (Shiwaitaoyuan, ¥70, 08:30–17:30) — the replica of Tao Yuanming's peach-blossom paradise.
Ten Li Gallery by bike. Rent a bike in Yangshuo (¥10 basic, ¥20 mountain) and ride the 8 km road towards Gaotian and Moon Hill: Big Banyan Tree (¥20), Julong Lake (¥68), Moon Hill (¥15) and the old Longtan village (¥10). In March the roadside is walls of yellow rapeseed flowers. The round trip is about 16 km — one easy afternoon, with stops for photos and tea.
West Street or home. Return the bike, wander West Street (1,180 metres, 1,400 years old) for lanterns and souvenirs, dinner of beer fish — then the 80-minute coach back to Guilin (¥22, last departures ~20:30), or a night in Yangshuo with Impression Liu Sanjie (¥188–680, 20:00).
Hotels, boat tickets, rafting, show seats and guides arranged by our team — free of charge, no obligation.
Guilin Bus Terminal (65 Zhongshan South Road · +86 773 3822 666) to Yangshuo: ¥22, 80 min, every 20 min from 06:30. Or take the train to Yangshuo station — the area has good rail links too.
Yulong raft ¥120–240 per two-person raft · bike ¥10–20 · Big Banyan ¥20 · Julong Lake ¥68 · Moon Hill ¥15 · Shangri-la Garden ¥70. Our team books rafts and park tickets free.
Beer fish (Xie Dajie, Da Shifu), stuffed bitter melon and snails, songhua candy from Xingping — dinner on West Street from about ¥50 pp.
