Up into the Longsheng mountains to the Longji Rice Terraces — a rice-terrace landscape carved by Zhuang and Yao farmers over centuries, with the classic terraces above Ping'an village and the red-yao Jinkeng (Dazhai) terraces nearby. Early start required; about two hours each way; bookable end-to-end by our team.
Out to Longsheng. Take the Longji shuttle from Qintan Coach Station (31 Cuizhu Road, Guilin · +86 773 3832 703) — the station door usually has direct scenic-area shuttles. Entry tickets from ¥80 (ticket + shuttle combos ¥124–130). Arrive at the Ping'an village gate and walk up through the terraces: the viewpoint above the village is the classic mirror-and-mountain shot.
Bamboo-tube rice & water liquor. Lunch at a terrace farmhouse: bamboo-tube rice (rice steamed inside fresh bamboo), Longsheng water liquor, and mountain ham — smoky, golden and entirely local. Budget ~¥50.
Hot springs or the return. If time allows, 40 minutes from the county town to the Longsheng Hot Springs (45–58°C mineral pools in the forest, rich in lithium, strontium and iron — good for the legs after the climb). Otherwise head back to Guilin on the evening shuttle. Prefer to linger? Terrace guesthouses run from about ¥100 a room, and the sunrise over the mirrors is the best reason to stay.
Hotels, boat tickets, rafting, show seats and guides arranged by our team — free of charge, no obligation.
Qintan Coach Station is the Longsheng hub (buses 2/32/12/85/91 reach it). From Yangshuo there is no direct bus — join a package shuttle or charter. Leave Guilin by 07:30–08:00 to make the day comfortable.
Scenic-area entry from ¥80; shuttle combos ¥124–130; farmhouse lunch ~¥50; hot springs from the standard pool rate. Our team books the whole package free.
