Mojie, the 'Demon Realm' near Erdaobaihe, is fed by warm spring water that stays open all winter; at dawn, rime and bare trees rise through the mist.
Leave Erdaobaihe early and reach the riverside before first light, when the mist and rime are at their best.
Photograph the dead trees and rime as the sun breaks through; winter rime drifting on the open water is an option.
Head back to town for a hot breakfast, or continue on to the North Slope for the rest of the day.
Our team arranges slope tickets, resort hotels, transfers and rafting at Changbaishan free of charge — one message is all it takes.
