Out to Weizhou Island — China's largest and youngest volcanic island, 36 nautical miles off the coast, with sea-eroded cliffs, a coral church and the best sunset in Guangxi. Early start required; bookable end-to-end by our team.
Out to the island. Take bus 3 to Beihai International Passenger Terminal (Yintan 3rd Road) and the first ferry (about 08:00–08:30; ordinary RMB 120, VIP RMB 180, crossing 1–1.5 h). Pay the island entry (about RMB 98) and rent a bicycle (RMB 20) or electric moped (RMB 60). Ride to the Crocodile Hill volcanic crater geopark — the lava flows and sea-eroded shapes that are the island's centrepiece.
Church & harbour. On to Shengtang village and the coral Catholic church, raised in the late 19th century from island coral and volcanic rock with a bell cast in 1889. Lunch on Nanwan harbour seafood — ask the family to cook your market catch, or try the Qiqi sweet-soup shop on Nanwan Street 147 (double-skin milk RMB 6).
Beaches & sunset. Cycle to Shiluokou beach for the clearest coral-view water, then on to Dishui Danping, the layered volcanic cliff where water drips from the rock — the island's classic sunset point. Catch the last ferry back (about 17:00). Want the Wucai Beach sunrise? Stay one night on the island instead.
