The old and the new — the Five Rams and grey-brick lanes in the morning, the twisted Canton Tower and a lit river cruise by night. Built for the short break; bookable end-to-end by our team.
Old city, colonial Shamian. Morning: Yuexiu Park (free, 06:00–21:00) — the Five Rams Sculpture and the Zhenhai Tower skyline. Walk down to Beijing Road for the pedestrian shopping street and its unearthed ancient road. Lunch on dim sum. Afternoon: the all-granite Sacred Heart Cathedral (free, Yide Road), then metro line 1 to Huangsha for Shamian Island — 150 European buildings under giant banyans. Dinner on Shifu Road at an old teahouse.
Chen Clan & the river by night. Morning: Chen Clan Academy (¥10, 08:30–17:30) — the peak of Lingnan wood, brick and pottery decoration. Afternoon: metro to the new town, Huacheng Square and Canton Tower (433 m deck ¥150, 08:30–23:00; the 450 m Ferris wheel ¥130). Evening: board a Pearl River night cruise from Tianzi Wharf (¥48–148 by class) past the lit tower, Haixinsha and the Zhujiang New Town skyline — ignore the touts on the quayside.
