Why Youji from Akesudiqu?
Youji is one of the nationally recognized “One Village One Product” specialties of Heiyingshan Township, Baicheng County, Baicheng County, Akesudiqu, Xinjiang province, China. The program, run by China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, certifies villages whose signature agricultural or handicraft product has become a local economic pillar and a point of regional pride. Raised in the region's traditional way, the meat product is prized for its flavor and is a centerpiece of local festive meals and gift-giving.
