Why Bare tsampa from Lasa?

Bare tsampa is one of the nationally recognized “One Village One Product” specialties of Bare Village, Duilongdeqing District, Duilongdeqing District, Lasa, Tibet province, China. The program, run by China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, certifies villages whose signature agricultural or handicraft product has become a local economic pillar and a point of regional pride. The product reflects the region's natural advantages and the craftsmanship of its people, and it has become a signature of local tourism — a taste, a craft or a tradition that visitors take home.

The certified village is located in Duilongdeqing District, Lasa — usually within an hour or two of the city center.
