Why Buckwheat from Changdu?

Buckwheat is one of the nationally recognized “One Village One Product” specialties of Lagen Village, Basu County, Basu County, Changdu, Tibet province, China. The program, run by China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, certifies villages whose signature agricultural or handicraft product has become a local economic pillar and a point of regional pride. Cultivated in the region's fields, the grain is known for its quality and taste, forming the backbone of local cuisine and everyday life.

Where to Buy & How to Visit

The certified village is located in Basu County, Changdu — usually within an hour or two of the city center. Many One Village One Product villages welcome visitors for orchard and field visits, product tastings and cultural experiences.
