The program, run by China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, certifies villages whose signature agricultural or handicraft product has become a local economic pillar and a point of regional pride. The fruit benefits from the region's sunshine and soil, maturing into a naturally sweet, aromatic harvest. Peak season draws visitors for orchard picking, and the fruit is also processed into dried snacks, preserves and gifts.
