Why Rouji from Xianning?
Rouji is one of the nationally recognized “One Village One Product” specialties of Heshengqiao Town, Xianan District, Xianan District, Xianning, Hubei province, China. The program, run by China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, certifies villages whose signature agricultural or handicraft product has become a local economic pillar and a point of regional pride. Raised in the region's traditional way, the meat product is prized for its flavor and is a centerpiece of local festive meals and gift-giving.
Where to Buy & How to Visit
The certified village is located in Xianan District, Xianning — usually within an hour or two of the city center. Many One Village One Product villages welcome visitors for orchard and field visits, product tastings and cultural experiences.
