Kelp is one of the nationally recognized “One Village One Product” specialties of Xiaocheng Town, Lianjiang County, Lianjiang County, Fuzhou, Fujian province, China. The program, run by China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, certifies villages whose signature agricultural or handicraft product has become a local economic pillar and a point of regional pride. The product reflects the region's natural advantages and the craftsmanship of its people, and it has become a signature of local tourism — a taste, a craft or a tradition that visitors take home.

The certified village is located in Lianjiang County, Fuzhou — usually within an hour or two of the city center.
